Peter brings an extensive resume to PMI. He has managed three of the country’s largest mortgage servicing operations, significantly improving the effectiveness of each. He prides himself in being able to lead massive change to a positive conclusion. His first servicing operation was the former Goldome Realty Credit operation in Buffalo, N.Y. During his tenure,
he converted the traditional bank servicing operation into a mortgage banking operation. He grew that operation fivefold to over 230,000 loans and doubled its productivity. He also oversaw a two billion dollar commercial servicing operation.
At Mellon Mortgage, Peter managed three servicing sites controlling a mortgage servicing portfolio of 660,000 loans. He was also responsible for corporate mergers and acquisitions, telemarketing/affinity lending and the bank’s owned mortgage portfolio. When Peter arrived at Mellon, the company was losing two hundred million dollars per year, resulting from a servicing cost of $230 per loan, a 15% default rate and over 5,000 REO properties. By the end of his seven year tenure, the cost of servicing had been reduced to $50 per loan, delinquency rates were slightly better than the national average, the REO portfolio had been normalized and the company was returned to solid profitability.
His final position before PMI was at PNC Mortgage Corp of America. Although at PNC only two years, Peter reduced the operating expense structure by nine million dollars and increased ancillary revenues by over two million dollars. He also oversaw the corporate wide Information & Technology function and servicing acquisitions area.
During his career, Peter has held several industry leadership positions including in the MBA, the ESMBA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He holds an undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and an advanced management degree from Harvard Business School. He has acted as an expert witness in several major cases which were settled advantageously for his clients.
